Automation Engineer - Financial Services Platform (Builder, Executor, Problem Solver)
The organization has a large number of repetitive, rules-based activities that should not be performed manually. This role exists to eliminate that work. The role objective is to design and deploy automation solutions that remove manual effort, improve speed and accuracy and enable scalable operations
The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and deploying automation solutions across the organization’s operational and support functions. The role focuses on eliminating manual processes, improving efficiency, and reducing operational risk through the implementation of workflow automation, RPA, and system integrations. This is a hands-on engineering role that requires translating process designs into scalable, production-grade automation solutions embedded within daily operations.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Strategic Mandate – The role is accountable for:
- Automating high-volume, repetitive operational processes
- Enabling exception-based processing models
- Reducing manual errors and operational risk
- Supporting the organization’s transition to a digital-first operating model
- Building reusable automation components and frameworks
Automation Solution Development
- Build solutions that are reliable, efficient, scalable
- Build automation for processes including data extraction (banks, custodians, systems), NAV production steps, reconciliations (cash, positions, capital accounts), capital calls and distributions, investor onboarding and servicing, financial and operational reporting, onboarding and data entry tasks
- Design and develop automation solutions using RPA tools, workflow automation platforms, scripting and integration tools
- Design and implement workflow-based automation systems that manage task sequencing, enforce maker–checker controls, provide audit trails
- Develop orchestration logic for multi-step processes across systems and
- Work closely with Process Analysts (process design), AI Engineers (AI components), Product Managers (product roadmap)
- Translate process requirements into technical automation
- Be comfortable working with imperfect inputs and refining solutions
Integration, System Connectivity and Exception-Based Processing
- Integrate automation solutions with fund accounting systems, CRM platforms, data systems, document management tools
- Build APIs and connectors where required to enable seamless data
- Design automation systems that handle standard cases automatically, route exceptions for human review
- Reduce manual intervention to only high-risk or complex
Testing, Deployment & Maintenance & Performance Optimization
- Conduct testing of automation solutions, including functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Deploy automation into production
- Monitor and maintain automation
- Troubleshoot and resolve
- Monitor performance of automated
- Identify opportunities to improve speed, reduce errors, increase automation coverage
- Continuously enhance existing
Control, Audit & Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all automation solutions maintain audit trails, support regulatory requirements, comply with internal control frameworks
- Implement logging, access controls, error handling mechanisms
- Maintain clear documentation of automation workflows, system integrations, business logic

OTHER DUTIES
- Undertake the role of director, trustee, nominee, manager, partner, secretary, authorized signatory or any related position in internal entities or client entities of Amicorp Group, where necessary and required by the Management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3–7+ years’ experience in automation development, RPA, workflow systems
- Experience in financial services or operational environments preferred
- Attention to detail and process accuracy
- Ability to translate business processes into technical solutions
- Strong collaboration skills with focus on delivery and outcomes
- Bias for building and delivering
- Ownership of outcomes
- Exceptional client facing skills. Well-developed spoken and written communication skills and the ability to tailor style to relevant audiences and successfully liaise with people at different levels. Excellent English language fluency: additional languages preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution driven, highly organized and detail-oriented with good decision making and time management skills. Independent, hands-on and takes accountability to deliver solutions and results.
- Ability to adapt and work in a smaller, dynamic local team environment with tight deadlines; along with being part of a bigger matrix organization. Proven team player skills, with ambition to excel in the role and grow into fund organization and structuring.

Technical Skills
- Automation & Tools – RPA platforms (e.g. UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism), Workflow tools (e.g. Power Automate, Camunda, or similar)
- Programming – Python (preferred), scripting languages
- Integration – APIs, REST services, system integration
- Data – SQL, data processing
- Infrastructure (Desirable) – Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), version control (Git)
